Dead Wall

A Collaboration with The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, these scutes come from cat-fish from the museums collection. Scanned, then 3D printed, I made over 25 molds of such scutes with plastic and pigmented them in different shades of brown. The piece is a paradox, the scutes represent dead material fossilized in a wall but nature is blooming from the skeletal material encrusted in the wall.
